Whether it’s your home or your business, grading is a crucial first step in the paving process. Grading provides information vital to every step of paving and ensures a smooth and safe paving experience. At R & R Paving and Grading, we will perform a thorough assessment of your property in a multi-step process to confirm we have all the information we need to pave your property.

Preparing to Pave: What to Expect from the Grading Process

The first step in the grading process involves an assessment of drainage conditions and the formulation of a plan to handle water accumulation on the surfaces intended to be paved. Without proper drainage, water can cause pavement damage. This assessment allows us to manage water accumulation and prevent water damage moving forward.

Once drainage conditions are understood, we will move on to excavation. During this process, the soil is graded and formed according to the assessment to direct water away from the pavement or surrounding structures. Water will instead be drained into retention ponds or storm drains, preventing any property damage.

Beyond dealing with drainage, the grading process allows for the creation of a smooth, stable foundation to lay pavement over. By grading the land, irregularities can be addressed ahead of time, meaning the pavement itself will be smoother and less prone to cracks after it is laid.

With 30 years of industry experience, we thoroughly and completely grade the land we work on, every time. If you are looking to have your land graded for a pavement job, contact us for a free estimate, and let us help keep your pavement safe and smooth.
